ICONS #1: Faces & Places That Inspired The Collection: Andy Warhol

As most of you will know, Andy Warhol was an american artist and played a key role in the New York art scene in the 1960's. I was introduced to warhol at a young age with his famous Cambell soup cans and it interested me that someone could take something so mundane and turn it into art. But as I grew up, I realised his work was much more than that. He took concepts such as celebrity and corporation and forced society to look at it in these vibrant colours. You can see that Warhol has influenced the collection in the aspect that I've taken pictures from everyday life and given them their own purpose on my clothing in bright colours. My objective is to use the images on my peices to paint a picture of underground street culture.
